Uses
This combo solution is designed to treat symptoms of the common cold, flu, allergies, hay fever, or other respiratory ailments (such as sinusitis and bronchitis). Decongestants aid in the relief of stuffy nose symptoms. This medicine also contains an opioid cough suppressant (antitussive), which works on a specific area of the brain to reduce the urge to cough. Watery eyes, itchy eyes/nose/throat, runny nose, and sneezing are all relieved by antihistamines. Children under the age of 18 should not use opioid cough suppressants. Children are more likely to experience serious (even deadly) adverse effects, particularly respiratory issues. Discuss the risks and advantages of this drug with your doctor. Colds are not cured by cough and cold products. Cough caused by a normal cold does not always require medical attention. Consult your doctor.
Swallow the medication whole if you are using sustained-release pills or capsules. The tablets or capsules should not be crushed, chewed, or broken. This can reduce the drug’s long-term effectiveness and may exacerbate negative effects.
Do not raise your dose or use this product more frequently or for a longer period of time than recommended. Your condition will not improve faster, and your chances of experiencing negative effects will rise.
If you stop taking this drug abruptly, you may experience withdrawal symptoms (such as agitation, wet eyes, a runny nose, nausea, sweating, and muscular aches). To help prevent withdrawal, your doctor may gradually reduce your dose. Withdrawal is more common if you have been using this drug for an extended period of time (more than a few weeks) or at large doses.
